MATERIALS FOR THERMAL DESIGN
APPLICATION GUIDE

Start with the thermal task.

A practical starting point for discussing coatings, thermal interface materials and insulation.

01 / Define the role

Describe where the material will be used and what it needs to do. Separate surface treatment, interface requirements and thermal protection in your application brief.

02 / Describe the assembly

Include the substrate, component arrangement, available space, installation method and production process. Drawings or photographs can help the technical discussion.

03 / Set the operating conditions

Identify the operating load, ambient conditions, temperature exposure and duration relevant to the application. Record the conditions used for any comparison.

04 / Agree on evaluation and documentation

Discuss which material grades can be considered, what documentation is available, and how a sample evaluation would support the next design decision.

This guide is an application-discussion checklist, not a product test report or a certification. Agree on the evaluation method required by your application.
